BLUES boss Jim Magilton has a bid in for at least one player but has denied it is Barnsley defender Domink Werling. Rumours sweeping the fans' message boards claim Werling is about to join Ipswich but Magilton dismissed that this morning. He said: “We have not made a move for Werling. His agent contacted us and enquired if we would be interested but that's all.” Town have made a move for one player which Magilton refused to name. He said: “If it is possible to get everything tied up in time we will include him against West Brom.”
Where's That Article From? I don't want Werling to sign. Lets just say Ipswich don't want him. It doesn't hide the fact that he's an agent looking out for himself and we shouldn't deal with people like that.
Do They Have An Email Address? I think we should bombard them with complaints for not naming us as the source for where they obviously got the rumour from.
Sat next to Werling on Saturday..... He was with his mother, laughed out loud like a little kid when Kayode missed his two one on ones, sounds like your a top team player Dominik like when you had the little childish rant because you weren't able to take the free kick.
"we shouldn't deal with people like that." But wouldn't that probably be how we got to know about him? But we decided to have him on a 6 month loan rather than sign him. Of course his agent is looking out for him and trying to get him the best deal when he has a loan expiring!
Exactly - thats what agents do do get their client a better deal. Or at least the best deal possible. The better deal that they get for the player, the more money the agent tends to get. Its the way of the world unfortunately.
This on the official site Dont know if its been posted already:

DOMINIK WERLING LATEST

Posted on:Mon 31 Dec 2007
DOMINIK Werling's future at Oakwell is no clearer this morning and Barnsley Football Club are still unsure as to whether the German will be with the squad next month.
Dominik arrived at Oakwell last summer for a six month loan period with an agreement in place with his parent club - Sakaryspor - and his agent to sign him on a permanent 18-month contract from January 2008, subject to certain criteria being met.
In the light of Dominik's performances for the Reds this season Barnsley Football Club have made him and his agent a very generous offer.
Dominik's agent has rejected these new, vastly improved terms, and reneged on the agreement in place.

©WWW.BARNSLEYFC.CO.UK 2007 RNK

RE: This on the official site Would appear agreement's mean very little in football!! Fair enough agents try and do the best for there players, but when an agreement is in place surely it should be kept to.
Obviously not a binding agreement Cant have it both ways - either there is an agreement which states that if the following conditions are met the club guarantees to make the deal permanent and Dominic is committed or, The agreement is after 6 months we will try and agree a mutually acceptable contract - it seems to me the second is what was actually in place or his agent wouldnt be able to talk to other clubs in this way. it may be there was a "Gentlemans agreement" in place but with a football agent that isn't likely to be kept is it Of course Dominic is running a big risk - if no firm offers come in which are better than the one he has from us he could find himself in the same position as Shuker a couple of seasons ago. The club are rightly giving him a deadline as if he doesn't sign we need to go and find someone else
