What's the lowest away following anyone has seen that Barnsley have taken away? Mine was 10 at Workington many years ago.

One of the worst i can recall at Oakwell was the 2 that Bury that brought for a night match. Around the same time Oxford brought 18 when they played at the 'well.

    RE: 2?

1979/80 - they scored to go 1-0 up and me an my mate Steve looked over from the Ponty to see these two blokes jumping up and down in the main stand

Was a Saturday game and we were at Newcastle in Lg Cup on the Tues (which was a far more lucrative game). I only went as my husband was in the Gt North Run on the Sunday - he was a bit scathing of our turnout of about 200. Lost 2-0 ish.

    Millwall Mid 80's

Must have been about 50 of us. That included about half a dozen mid forties Millwall neanderthals that decided to join us for a bit of sport!

We lost 1-0 - Stuart Gray (I think) missed a pen late on.

Never been pleased to see a Barnsley pen missed before or after but I was that day. Happy to escape from the delights of the Den and that beautiful part of South East London in one piece.

Big lad up front? Would that be 'Little Dave'? I heard they used to struggle with the Lilliput Select XI whenever they chanced upon them - local derbies eh?
Doddy'd Diddy Men were the big boys back then though!

    RE: Millwall Mid 80's

We took about 70 there in 79/80 (drew 2-2). A few days previously we had around 600 at Reading's Elm Park - i always wondered whether it was the 7-0 defeat at Reading, or the traditional 'sarf east Landan' welcome, that put a lot off from travelling?

    RE: Ronnie Corbetts Showbiz XI

I seem to recall a certain song along those lines... I reckon that's what led to Corbett signing for the Mighty Midgets! But they were more of a touring team from the States (if memory serves me right) and he ended up reading the news out at the end of that programme hosted by another bloke by the name of Ronnie.

"He's short, he's ****, his glasses are the pits! Little Ron... Little Ron!"

When Jay Tabb came on for Coventry the other week I thought he was the Barsteward son of Peter Beardsley and Little Jimmy Krankie.
