Remember playing Morecambe in the League Cup a few years back (they won 2-0) and there was about 100 of their fans made the trip, can't remember seeing lower than that in recent times. Most was any from Newcastle, Sunderland, Derby, Leeds, Wednesday, Birmingham. Basically anyone who had the whole North Stand and part of the West Stand.
We once played Cambridge in a night game. It was absolutely pissing it down and the game was eventually called off because the pitch had become a lake. There was one bloke on the old Spion Kop with an umbrella. Most I've seen would have been Man City in 81-82 cup run. Liverpool didn't bring as many. Everton brought a fair amount too in the FA Cup game.
The first home game of our last spell in League One was Cheltenham on a Tuesday night. There weren't very many away fans. I've been going since 1994, and don't recall seeing many games with fewer.
There were numerous games in the 1960's & '70's, when we were in the old Third and Fourth Divisions, where there weren't any away fans at all.
It was really weird when the opposition would score a goal and the only people cheering would be in the away dugout.
Unofficially, Wolves have got to be up there. The whole north stand, half the West and then allegedly hundreds with dodgy tickets which meant there were people stood all the way down the stairs in the north stand too.
Wolves one year when the West Terrace was standing, they had the kop and half of the West. A lot more than the 7,000-7,500 they get now those area's are seated.
I remember a game in the 70s against Stockport, when there was a smattering of Stockport fans. Just after kick off a few coachloads of Wednesday fans turned up, as their game had been called off. I was with my cousins and uncle and we were stood on the Kop, but we legged it over into the terrace when the Wednesday fans arrived. It wasn't the 4-4 game, but was the season before, when we lost 1-0.
I recall a night match v Sheff Wed when there was over 28,000 inside Oakwell (start of the 81-82 season I think). There must have been 9-10,000 pigs there that night. Banksy settled it though!
Am sure I can recall Leicester taking haif ot Ponty in late 60`s in a FA cup game. With a row of coppers in between both sets of fans.
Just been looking at some tables from previous seasons on another forum, Millwall brought 161 on a Tuesday night in 2012/2013. Can't find a figure lower than that. Even Yeovil brought 262 last season.
