In no particular order .... Jack White - Blunderbuss Cribs - in the belly ... Spector/Vaccines ...... sounding remarkably similar but both good Gaslight Anthem - handwritten
Jack White - saw him in Kentish Town and was quality. Add Richard Hawley in and I've played Blood Red Shoes and Band of Skulls to death.
Reckon? Not got into it. Although saw em a couple of months ago and it was one of mi favourite gigs of the year.
Re: iliketrains - The Shallows Dexys album is great and the new calexico out this week sounds very good
LIke the first 4 and liking the Gaslight Anthem single that's currently playing on XFM. Also Mystery Jets - Radlands and The Maccabees
Funnily enough ..... I took one of my young'uns to the Sheffield On the Track festival (with plankton pete), and was sat enjoying the "new music" line up .... I really enjoyed Nottingham's Dog Is Dead who were a "never heard them before" easy listen - sort of Noah and the Whale/Mumford inoffensive stuff ... next up was Penistone's Rolo Tomassi ... being a local (to me) band, I was really looking forward to seeing/listening .... they came on stage and I must confess I was rather attracted to the young blond female lead singer ... the music commenced and the guitar intro was heavier than I expected, then she open her gob .... and growled/yelled/sceamed in true death metal fashion for the next 25 minutes.... each to their own, but it soon cleared millenium square, bar a small circle pit of studded RT fans .... must be my age.
