Looks like he could be involved a lot this season. I was very impressed with him against Ferencvaros.

Davey: I have big plans for Potter

Simon Davey has seen Luke Potter respond well to the challenge laid down to him to grab his opportunities in pre-season.

Potter played most of last week's match against Ferencvaros and put in an excellent performance, especially going forward.

Simon Davey said, "Potter was thrown into the match early and he coped very well. I have big plans for him this season and will be pushing him all the way. He has a good left foot, he is big, strong and got plenty of Yorkshire grit. We will have a good player on our hands with him."

Last season Luke Potter made 22 appearances for Kettering Town at the end of last season while on loan helping them finish only three points off the play-off positions.

The first team experience and only losing five of the games he played in have helped Potter move forward and become a challenger for a place in the first team squad at Barnsley.

On Tuesday Barnsley have a double header game against Gainsborough and Frickley.
