He's been playing cricket over the summer for Hoylandswaine. My nephew is mates with him, I'll ask him what else he's been up to.
Top top guy who is doing some sports coaching at Barnsley College and some other courses too I believe. As other posters point out, he summarises for Barnsley Player (voluntary I believe) and plays cricket for Hoylandswaine..
In his younger days he was a fast bowler but due to his injury he bowls slow and is a reasonable batsman too...
Ta v much its nice to know what they`re doing after injuries have curtailed their careers. Good on him, would like to have seen him play int centre of defence but **** happens.
Both, but more of batter. I've known Luke almost all his life due to him being mates with my nephew. He's always been an excellent cricketer. The way he used to hit the ball when he was a kid was just scary. He could hit it harder than most men. I always thought he was going to go on to be a professional cricketer.
I heard he was doing some coaching practice at Oakwell with the academy youngesters for some experience as he was taking his coaching badges
Yeah. I played cricket with him up at Kexborough when he was just getting into the senior team. Hits a very long ball. Good player. Family full of good cricketers actually.
His younger brother Ben from the times i've seen him play for Swaine 1st team is one of the best bowlers in the Drakes. And with last summer Tom Craddock signing for Essex from Honley, and the other day Aaron Lilley signing for Lancashire from Delph & Dobcross he might get spotted himself one day.
