    I suppose you could argue its very senisble to wait until after summer recruitment. What if we had found a keeper who was as good as Steele but only wanted half the money, freeing up more to invest elsewhere.

    Listened to the interview with Hill on audioboo. Sounded to me like if we secure a high earner(s) then we can't offer Steele a decent deal.
