but I am not the manager, so I do not count. If Mr Flitcroft thinks he can get a Keeper that can do the job at a price that fits our budget then lets get it done. It is the same with all the others we are hoping to retain but are negotiating new contracts. If they feel they can get better money elsewhere then let them go. As long as Mr Flitcroft has replacements lined up, and ones that fit our budget. I believe one thing though, next season may be a step forward or we may go down..... BUT we will not go bankrupt. I did not like administration at all, I stood on gates with a collecting bucket..it was not nice. No matter what anyone thinks I believe we will have a team to follow for a long, long time.
Catching the ball in front him with his arms out, instead of taking it into his bread basket. trying to kick the ball to monk bretton and it ending up in east or west stand instead of placing it. punching like a 2 year old girl back in to danger instead of out wide or behind. saving shots with the insides of his arms instead of his gloves. patting at low shots back into danger with his hands, instead of vollying them with his feet. If he as the chance to go to a club with a decent goalkeeping coach, he should jump at it.
disagree with what? I have said that if Flitcroft can get a Keeper that will do the job he wants then go for it. My reason that I think its a poor offer , is not what money he has been offered but length of contract. May I alos ask the people who have answered my post so far one question... Were you at Anfield for THAT cup match , which was Lukes first game..hmmm no thowt not.
Re: disagree with what? Yeah i was i've also seen every league & FA Cup game he's played in for the last 4 and half years (apart from Brighton away this season) have you ?,
I think Ben's a very good keeper. He commands the area very well and his kickings very good. He was good at shot stopping but i think he would have improved after maybe 10/15 games when he got used to playing games. I thought he helped the defence a lot and didn't concede from a corner under him which was our manager weakness over the last season. On Kasper, i think he's very very good. Very positive and a great leader. can do everything very well (kick, catch/punch and save) and i see he's in the denmark squad at the moment and that's not really a surprise to me.
When I say Casper I mean Billy Casper, my pet name for Steele. From the film Kes and the book A Kestrel for a Knave. The issue is we can't afford for a keeper to improve over than time frame.
