Was in the Paper that the Day before he signed WBA were going to pay his wages up. He said he went to Peterborough to see if he could have another contract with them. So surely Peterborough were NOT going to pay his 8k a week wages were they?
Exactly. Now Steele has shown some form and got some publicity, WBA are changing their tune. They can't command a fee, but they can mitigate their losses by getting someone else to pay him off and take on his wages. They'd be stupid not to, but it doesn't mean we should be held to ransom. And what about the player himself? He could always give up some of his £8,000 a week to play in an FA cup semi-final. After all, his career would probably be over if he hadn't come to us. He should consider it an investment in his future.
Peterborough just paid 400k for Joe Lewis in new year a goalie, fantastic prospect, a great investment, have already had a couple of prem clubs sniffing around, so they obviously have a bit of cash to plash
