Does anyone else think he could have claimed the ball for their second their goal or was it because we had JCR at right back?
Jcr at rbs got nothing to do with him catching the ball or not. just thinks hes lost the ball with the sun
They all were JCR had left his man completly to knock it in unmarked from 2 yards, foster and moore let the ball come across them, hassell didn't stop the ball to start with etc. Lot of them were rubbish and didn't look like they cared at all
butterscotch was asking steele if he wanted him in the wall for the 1st steele made him stop where he was, and the ball went straight through the gap.
I thought that at the time But wasn't sure. After seeing the replay, it was a good cross but a fingertip from Steele would have prevented a goal. Jury still out for me. The first goal was slightly dodgy too - as Ryhill said the wall had a big gap in it. The guy didn't have to swerve or bend or chip the ball to avoid the wall - he just blasted it straight in. Not sure it was a free kick anyway though. Steele's a top keeper though, better than Müller in my opinion. In no way is he to blame for the overall level of performance yesterday.
Free kick for their 1st goal shouldnt have been given and their second was sloppy defence by everyone. The best possible result would have been 0-0, because there were only 2 weak shots on target all match!!!
A lot of keepers do that though stahlrost. If it was a yard lower Steele would have saved it but best put it right under the cross bar.
Did you leave before the end We had a great chance in the last minute of injury time when I think Sodje headed at goal from about 4 yards and it hit the keeper - a couple of feet either side and he would have scored. Only meaningful save their keeper made all game mindyou and I dont think he knew much about it
RE: Did you leave before the end It was Foster who headed it STRAIGHT AT the keeper. So ok, one chance in 93minutes of play!!! Always stay to the end, got to try and get my moneys worth, even though they were ****
Foster's the only one who'll ever score from a set piece... and would probably score more goals than our strikers if we played upfront, because he's the only person who ever attacks the ball. He needs to give our strikers a lesson in it.
Having just seen the goal again on SSN Your right, Butterfield was stood on his own next to the wall. Where did the ball end up? Straight through Butterfield and the wall :'(.
Im a fan of Steele, at the time from where we were sat we thought it had gone straight thru him..albeit at pace.....BUT...having watched the TV looks like wall split and Hammill jumped/turned n ball flew past them. 2nd goal, with the angle cross came came not sure theres much he cud have done about it....altho Im guess they got a better view of it fromeast stand (aka The Patrick Cryne Stand)
