After the first against Ipswich, the West Ham goal and the two none pens today I hope he gets back to what he's capable of asap
Ipswich: Ball goes under his body which was sloppy. West Ham: Let an header in from four yards out. Anything in a six yard box the keeper should always come for knowing any knock on him would likely be a foul on the keeper. Blackpool 1st: Ball goes under him again. Blackpool 2nd: Nothing near it even though it was in his own goalmouth. Like I said we all know what he's capable of and that he's one of our best players, but his last three performance haven't been anywhere near as good. I'm sure if he was asked he'd say so himself.
Blackpools first goal didn't go under him, he got a hand to it but it wasn't strong enough and the pace and power in the shot took the ball in. He possibly could have done better but do we forget about the supply and a full back showing his man inside allowing the shot on goal in the first place.
Have to disagree again Conan. Although he could have done better for the first. 2nd goal was a cracker and he nearly got the pen. Kept us in the match with some good stops otherwise, despite a tricky wind.
Spot on, word for word. Proving you were at the game. And how the hell does Albert work out that the first Ipswich goal was Steeles fault?? Andrews hit that volley with pinpoint accuracy, Luke didnt get near it... that was the first goal wasnt it? As for West Ham, maybe he thought JayMac would jump with Diop, rather than try and jump..
Jay Mac isn't to blame that someone a few stone heavier and a fair few inches taller beat him to the ball, when Steele could have just come off his line and grabbed it.
And the Ipswich goal??? And, do you not think its a tad OTT to be picking holes in a player that has been our star performer, and helped to win games/points for us?
He let in a daisy cutter that wasn't hit particularly hard and was from a long way out. This is a forum for people to give opinions on situations. People aren't always going to agree with eachother that's the way of the BBS. When he plays well he rightly gets applauded. When he has some off games it's right for it to be brought up also. It's not one below average performance it's three so it's not like it's a case of waiting for one match dip in form and jumping on his case. As i've said I bet Luke himself would admit he's not performed to his usual excellent standard recently. If Matthew for example interviews him for the Chronicle in the next few weeks he will probably say so himself.
So what you are saying is, that any player who doesnt perform excellently every game, is entitled to criticism? I will pass thanks. That goal by Andrews btw, was a pinpoint swerving volley thru a sea of legs, that no keeper would have seen/saved. And at West Ham, I clearly remember Luke making at least one great save 2nd half. But yeah, keep finding faults. He wasnt great monday, but other than that, near exemplary thus far this year
As long as the critisism is constructive I don't see a problem with it. This is a forum to vent on afterall. I'm not saying he doesn't save his fair few, just because i've brought up a few he should have saved recently (especially West Ham one).
That second one today should never have been let in. Straight at him from distance and still went him. Come on Luke you are better than this.
