He tweeted from some exotic location just a day or so ago saying 'always a red' or summat along those lines. Be gutted if he goes. More so than any other current player.
No team came in for him last close season, and quite honestly can't see it happening this summer particularly as he is now contracted to the club

Doesn't sound like he did though. If JEPRED is telling the truth, no reason to doubt him personally but we are on the internet where people say owt, then Luke didn't discuss his options or his contract, he just failed to confirm he would definitely be at Barnsley. I'm sure Luke wouldn't discuss his contract or his options with random strangers in the street, but he probably doesn't want to tell lies either and that's what he would be doing if he assured someone he'd still be with us knowing he might actually leave.
I just see it as an answer you'd expect to get from a footballer if a fan stops them in the street to ask them about their future.
I know it is mate, I heard from the man himself. One of the best nights I have had on here was when Luke came on and argued with Hemmsy, who didnt know that it was Luke and kept on slating him, funny as fooki !!
Did he heck, but he kept on to the end , even when Luke gave him all the stats about shots saved and accurate throws and kicks. He said Luke was the worst keeper we have had in ten years
No doubt Luke saw the responses from others and realised that Phil is in the minority on here. I wonder if Luke knows it was the same person that abused Bobby.
I'm not arguing with that, I think you're bang on. It's just Luke doesn't strike me as the type of fella who would deceive fans of the club he plays for. I reckon the bloke has a lot of integrity. I think, and I don't know for sure I'm just speculating, if Luke thought he'd definitely be here next season he'd say "Yup, I'll be here." If he didn't know, he'd say as much, which sounds just like what he said. That doesn't mean he's definitely leaving, just that his future is undecided at present. I don't think that's discussing his career with total strangers, just being the honest bloke he is. I would imagine a few of our contracted players are not sure where their futures lie at the moment. We're fortunate that our best players are the ones that remain in contract. O'Grady, Cranie, Jennings and Steele are good pros, there will be plenty of clubs who would like them on their books. Good players tend to be on good contracts, and as we now have to spend a maximum of 60% of our turnover on wages it means the club has two good reasons to sell: not just the transfer fee, but also to reduce the wage bill. Take all that in to account and I don't think any of them could confirm they'll be playing for us next season. Personally I'd like to see them all, I think they're great players, but I understand the reality of the situation. I think Luke Steele does too.
