Lyle Taylor - worth complaining?

    I'm fairly certain what Taylor did near the end of the first half yesterday would fall under "inciting the crowd" and/or professional misconduct - he made several gestures toward the away end, laughing as he did so, in response to being heckled for diving to win a cheap free kick - and it wasn't just a quick laugh, he spent a good 30 seconds or so goading the away end.

    The referee wasn't looking at Taylor during the incident and therefore didn't take any action at the time, so retrospective action could be levied on the player. I would think there'd be full video evidence so if we did complain, I'm not sure Charlton or Taylor would have a leg to stand on...

    Are we really that sensitive? He was getting jip and just put his arms out to the way end.

    Unless I missed it I didn’t see any offensive hand gestures or any bad language used, so if anyone starts being violent because of what he did how would the case go in court?

    ‘I felt the need to run on the pitch and smack him one because he had the audacity to look at the away end with his arms out wide.

    I think it was the corner shortly before the scored when he said something aimed at the crowed, and was goading the crowd - didn't give a **** that his team were taking a corner.

    So what? Seriously, why does that matter? If he'd deliberately tried to injure one of our players and the ref had missed it then he should be reported. If he's tried to wind you up and it worked then the fault is with you. Don't get wound up so easily. And stop telling tales.

    I probably am being a bit overly sensitive but it's the worst example of "winding up" I've seen at a football match. It wasn't just holding his arms out, he was going out of his way to goad fans who'd travelled a long way to be laughed at by someone on 10 times their salary. It was incredibly unprofessional and uncalled for. Had the ref seen it I'm certain he'd have been booked at a minimum.

    Three times. The first time, then the corner, then when he was waving to his imaginary friend.
    It’s ok excusing it and putting it down to us being over sensitive but I 100% guarantee he wouldn’t have done it in front of an away end full of Millwall fans.

    I almost hope he does try it in front of a less savoury fanbase - can't imagine he'd do it again if a Millwall/Birmingham/Cardiff fan launched a pound coin at his head

    What a ***** he was yesterday at Corners. Winding fans up. There was once he was winding us up that corner had already been took. Wish it went through to him cause he wasnt concentrating

    Depends what you expect from football. Personally I’m not overly sensitive. I don’t particularly like any kind if misbehaviour, but i can ignore it. However, in the last 15 years I have been taking children to games. In that time I’ve also been coaching a Junior football team, and working with disabled people in a football setting. It totally changes your perspective on what is acceptable.

    What Taylor did is wrong, unprofessional and worthy of at least a booking. Yet our own fans are bizarrely writing off their fellow fans as oversensitive / snowflakes.

    suppose we could get back to the dark ages when football was just for men.
