When I saw the line up it was fairly obvious our new head coach was trying g things out and what a perfect opportunity to do just that. Hopefully Marcus S will have seen what we have at the club and who can and can't cut the mustard. The team on Saturday will be different to tonights match and selected for the task in hand .
Bring on Coventry City and back to Oakwell at laSt. It's been a long time

He's been at the club for all of pre season. Seen the players train every day and had everyone available for friendlies. He's supposed to be a top level coach. Why does he need to be finding out now if they're any good or not?

Barnsley’s Austrian coach bemoaning the lack of quality in our forwards at the start of the season has a familiar feel to it…

I think his primary aim was looking after some players. Both Kitching and Williams (Ben) were coming back from long term injuries and in addition I think Morris needs looking after considering his recent injury record.

Because training is different to a competitive fixture?

Il be honest I don't know what his style is or what his footballing philosophy is meant to be. It all seemed abit aimless tonight, whether that was mainly due to the lack of quality on show I'm not sure. 10-15 games in and things will hopefully be clearer.

Again, he's presumably got all his badges, has been brought in to manage in one of the top six leagues in the world, has had friendlies and two months of training.
I'm not going to name individual players but everybody on this board knows that some players in that team are never going to succeed in the Championship.

Only seen the Sky highlights, but from those I’d say Adeboyejo and Odour are in danger of making a similar impression on Schopp as Simoes and Schmidt made on Ismael.

Looked like Miller actually put a few decent crosses in. Woodrows attempted lob brought back painful memories of the finishing last season pre Ismael. Ballooned into the stand.

Not too concerned, would’ve liked to see a few less changes, to give the players coming in more of a chance to shine but can see why he picked the side he did.

Hopefully a much better performance to come on Saturday.

Miller got into some great wide positions. Unfortunately squandered 9 out of 10. Hit them long or hit first man on almost every cross. He had a chance to show he deserves more but didnt do so IMHO. Should put Adebeyojo on the wing, his first touch would probably hit the penalty spot.
