I have to travel from Wombwell to Morley on a training course next week. Does anyone have any idea what time I should be setting off to allow for traffic and such like to get there for 9am?
Would I be better off going through East Ardley? It's years since I've been up that neck of the woods.
    TIA

J39 to M62 always diabolical. I would reckon 7-30 would be the latest to set off

You could as mentioned avoid the M62 and get off the M1 and go via East Ardsley follow the
White Rose signs and just before turn off for Morley.

Agree with that. Its probably a 35 min trip on average

strangely in recent months the Motorways have been quiet 8.15 onwards and generally Ive been able to get to Harewood house via central leeds in well under an hour, 35 mins once!

Thanks folks, 7.30 was the time I had in my head.
I used to regularly have meetings near Bellend Road so I'd get the start times to put back to 9.30, it meant I could set off about about 8.45 and easily be on time. A 9am meet would mean a 7.45ish start and I preferred to stay in bed an hour longer.

    Might even be tempted to

Come off at J40 if it's already slow, it can take 20 minutes when it's crawling just to get from there to J41 for the A650.

You can follow A638 Dewsbury for a mile, right at the roundabout taking you past the Rams' ground to the A653 Leeds Rd, passing under J28 M62 and into Morley. No traffic problems anywhere on that route but it must be about 2 miles longer than A650 from J41.

I go to Morley a couple of times a week, set off from Carlton at 8am and get there for 8:45, so from Wombwell you'd probably be ok at 7:45 - 8am.

M1 to junction 41 then A650, straight across the White Bear roundabout then just follow the signs for town centre is your best bet.
