Must be paying him silly money. For him to sign till 2027. And/or county are hoping for a mega bucks offer, if a club are willing to take a chance on him. Apparently several offers were made prior to him signing a new contract last year.
Would much rather get Louie Barry or Max Dean if we are spending decent cash on a L2 striker. Both a lot younger with massive sell on potential down the line. I know Barry is owned by Villa but was at L2 level last season on loan

I think this is correct. County have a big debt and I think they see him as the guy that will pay a big chunk of it off. The flaw in the plan is if they stagnate in league 2 he’ll only ever be worth a couple of million at the very most, no matter how many goals he scores. I think last season they gambled on him and McGoldrick firing them to promotion as I imagine their combined wage is way over what a league two club with 4 figure attendances should be paying out. He could end up being a millstone around their neck. And somebody somewhere might end up getting a bargain in 12 / 18 months time. I don’t believe that will be us however!
It's a bit similar to us with Styles. We tied him down to a new deal with a release clause in his contract, in the hope that he'd hit the ground running at Millwall and be sold for good money in the next window. He's now in his final year, with the prospect of another season in league 1, or a loan move, which to me, wouldn't be beneficial for the club anymore. Here's hoping he has a brilliant Euro's and finally gets his move.
Can do both. Scored all his goals for Stockport in a front 2 as a Striker. Need to get agent Hourihane on the case as he knows him. Could work really well alongside Cosgrove
