I was really hoping it was him signing today after all the rumours!!

Glad we got a left back but feel a bit down now. Macken and De Silva are a must & we have to get the cheque book out for them NOW before it's to late!!

I would really consider letting one or two strikers go either for a fee or on loan!!

The people you ought to 'feel let down' by are not the club but instead a number of posters on here who gave the impresion De Silva and Macken were done deals. You know who you are and why you can't keep your big gobs shut is beyond me. Whilst none of us really know who/if/when Barnsley's next signings will be, fuelling speculation to give your own already massive ego's a boost is well out of order.

...............ps - mi mate sez we are after Lee Hughes - should be signing on Thursday. :)

I don't think it would be certain we would go down without them - but what would be highly likely is that we would be in a relegation battle which we can all do without.

Still reckon Preston, Scunny and Colchester are all worse then even the current weakened Barnsley side. What they ma have hoeever is more spirit and local pride when the battles really hots up in the last few games. Our foreign imports may not however have the same stomach for the fight.

I was only BSing abiout Lee Hughes but wouldnt be too unhappy if they got him. They could do a lot worse.

The problem with a relegation fight this season is that when Forest, Leeds and say Swansea come up next season with three teams with monster parachute payments coming down the recruitment of decent players to the squad during the summer will be nigh on impossible.

It's imperative for the medium term we're not favourites for relegation at the beginning of next season. But I can't see us being anything but even if we finished top half without the permanent signing of some real quality.
