Thought he had a very good debut, him and Stan played off each other in the first half and looked to have a good understanding. Both tired a bit at the end, but the pair look good playing together.
agree, worked hard, some classy touches and usually found a man with the lay offs, he must have been disorientated because on his way off, he applauded the PNE fans first did Stan go off because he was done in, looked like an injury sustained in the one on one KO showed us what we had missed when he came on, no pressure on Stan and Macken then
Impressed with Macken, won allot in the air and held it up well. Good to have Stan back. He signalled to the bench just before the one-on-one, and later on 1575 SD commented that Ferenczi had said prior to game he would signal when he felt he had nothing left in him.
I saw him applaud the PNE fans first and thought the same as you. Let's put it down to him being disorientated. It coud be a war otherwise. I must admit I was miffed when I saw him do it!
RE: Macken - different class! held ball up well great first touch.... It was all above first touch, took ball down well, held it up well...... this is Odejayi's down fall, his first touch is none existent.... if only he had one!
Was Odejayi supposed to be a fresh pair of legs when he came on? I'm sorry, but all he needed to do was run around for ten minutes and close down the opposition. What's wrong with the guy?
From Wikipedia. Although he began his career at Manchester United, Macken only started to play professionally after moving to Preston North End in 1997 where he scored over 70 goals, twice winning the Player of the Year award. Following this success, Macken moved into the Premiership with a transfer to Manchester City in February 2002, for a fee of £5,000,000.
I must admit I would have liked to have seen Mostto on with Macken for a while. AS said previously his lay offs where good that would have been a good service to him (mostto). Anyway just an oppinion. Well done to the lads yesterday
Very Impressed To say that he hasnt played all season, he looked very fit and sharp. His work ethic very much reminded me of Ward & Shipperley. Here's hoping for a feww goals from the lad.
Lets not get ahead of ourselves based on one performance. Good start though and made a difference to our attacking options. I'd have started with Mostto, because finally we have a striker who will allow him to be a fox in the box and he doesn't get on till late.
great player, i didnt notice him applaud the Nob Enders first but to be fair they did give him a great welcome when he was announced prior to the game, he was a bit of a legend there
I've No Issue With Macken Clapping Preston Fans Before Ours He's a legend there and hadn't even made his debut for us at the time. By clapping them first, he gets it out of his system and is able to then concentrate on his job for us.
Didn't think they did It seemed like mild applause from them when he was announced, expected they'd have given him a better reception. I didn't notice him applaud them first either.
(catching up) thanks Tina, vindicated this is not an issue because he certainly did a job for us, just an observation
