Some decent bogs in the West Stand. It is obvious this isn't going to be rebuilt for years, so why do we have to use toilets that were probably in use when our founder was President.

    Get the team invested in

There's usually room in the East Stand - I really don't understand why, when the season ticket prices are the same, that people choose the West Stand over the East Stand - I'd suggest they reduce prices in the West Stand to be the lowest in the ground.

Its the best place to view the stadium!

Sitting in the West Stand means you don't have to look at it. And the rest of Oakwell looks good really good from there.
As for the toilets, its one of the few places in Barnsley you can p**s in the open air and not get arrested!

Well I have a seat near the halfway line

and know the people who have seats around me - wouldnt get a ST with as good a view in the East Stand as they will be already taken and and might have to sit next to undesirables. Definitely dont have the bogs on my priority upgrade list though coped with that standard since the early '70's so a few more years wont make any difference

How's about a bar in the Ponty? Away fans can drink but home fans can't??!!

Disagree. I spent one season over there and it was enough.

    Ballax to the stadium.

We need to generate more income to pay better players.

We require another 3,000 Exec Boxes, 65,000 kit sponsors, 376 Player of the Year dinners, 15,000 season ticket holders & 785,000 first rate trinkets.

We need a magician to sweat our none existent assets.

    Oakwell looks great from West

Don't have an ST, and often think about sitting in West Stand when I come down, Oakwell looks cracking from there, as opposed to sitting in East and looking across at a generally half-empty, cronky old thing.
Me Dad always gets me a seat in lower East tho, right near the away end. And with my terrible record at Oakwell the last few years, getting sick of having a gloating victorious earful from whoever we get beaten by.

This year: Luton, Preston, Derby, Norwich, Leicester.

    Pretty good record eh.

    For one reason:

The time when he tried to run down the wing, stumbled over the ball, stepped over it twice, slipped over & spun around ... with not an opposition player within 20 yards of him.

I wanted to give it to Alan Lee.

At least you didn't make the call from the safety of your own sofa again.

I'd have given it to Ferenczi

He managed a full 90 minutes without getting sent off despite having absolutely no interest in the ball and just battering the opposing centre halves. Gone off the boil? The lad's in the fridge.

    The West Stand is brilliant

It's quick and easy to get into.

At the end of the game I'm in the bus station while the East Stand are still waiting to get to the stairwells.

The wind comes mainly from behind the stand so you aren't in a draught.

The rain comes mainly on the wind behind the stand so you don't get wet.

The sun shines from behind the Ponty or the West so you don't get the sun in your eyes.

You have the same view as the telly cameras so you don't get confused.

It has an excellent view of the ground and all the atmosphere of the Ponty without being in there.

If you don't get bladdered before the game you don't even need to go for a piss anyway, so the bogs aren't a problem.

Let those who like the East Stand stay there. I'm perfectly happy.

You have an electronic mail ...

... which may show why Istvan has been struggling.

Spot on. Same view, same views. Don't tell everybody though, we won't be able to spread out as much!

    I like this one

"You have the same view as the telly cameras so you don't get confused."

East Stand ticket holder watching match highlights on telly
"What's going on, we weren't kicking left to right in the first half! What's that big stand over there? this must be the wrong highlights I'm watching"!
