at £450 waste of money too.... do kids really expect all that spent on them for one night?? I'm just off to tell my kids not to get any fancy ideas! (7 years warning should be enough I reckon)
We didn't have a prom when I left school (can't even remember a party, except private ones). American ***** culture.
He's right though If a pupil swears at a teacher and is badly behaved then of course they should have privilages taken away
Standard practice at our school. We are told all the way through school that attending the end of school prom is a privilege and that attendance, behaviour, any exclusions or detentions and late or unacceptable coursework will mean an automatic ban from attending. So her Head Teacher is using the same criteria as ours. I'm not 100% certain that I'll be able to attend ours next year because of my attendance due to ill health - will have to work at getting better! "If their attendance is poor, if they have been excluded or their coursework is late, then they won't be allowed to go." (The prom is held in May usually on a Thursday evening then you have to turn in for school on Friday for your last day of school, then only turn up for your GCSE exams)
RE: Standard practice at our school. I'd be shocked if they used ill health as a reason not to let you attend. Are you contemplating spending £450 on frock & limo then, or is it just me who thinks that's barmy?
Mum says that too. Everytime I'm off she notifies school so in effect my absences aren't exactly unauthorised. I've better things to spend my (parents) money on than a dress and a limo for an evening although I've seen the type of dress I would like and they are about £100+ but have seen similar on e.bay for much less. Type I fancy as I'm really into the medieval look:
