Strange one this! Martins supposedly excessive wage demands meant the Middlesboro did not extend his contract. Mowbray says he wont be held to ransom by agents but that Martin would be accepted back on the right terms. He comes here on trial, so does this mean we are willing to meet his terms or is it all just part of the negotiating game with us as playing piggy in the middle. Doubt that there's many on here will accept that we can match Middlesboro for wages. I am not holding my breath!

I think it's more likely that Boro will only offer him £x per week, and he doesn't feel like they're giving him as much as he deserves. I'm sure if they wanted to they could afford whatever he is asking for.

We probably can't offer him what he wants either, but he'd possibly move to us on a short term deal and look to get a bumper wage at his next club - or possibly a signing on fee. At least he'd play if he moved to us.

He didn't make a single appearance for Blackpool and only fifteen for Middlesborough. I doubt they think he "deserves" as much as he he does. I wouldn't bother with him. Still, it's a short career, I'd do the same and I'd take it if I could get etc etc so fill your boots lad. Just not at Oakwell.

Yeah if it's true Middlesborough won't meet his wage demands good on them. Like you bring up he's barely played a game of football in his entire career. I'd find it funny someone born in Monaco ending up playing for us. Talk about a culture shock.

Desperation stakes maybe, after Keef and his budget are finding it hard to attract anyone to the club.

    Its all relative though.
Maybe his demands as a squad player were too high however maybe we could match his demands as a first team regular.
A creative centreal midfielder would be a good edition to our numbers.

    More midfielders?

If I remember correctly i'm sure our defence is a bit sh*t.

Can't be. We have the best centre half in the division.

Spain won Euro 2012 playing 11 midfielders at the same time and goal when needed. If it is good enough for them then we can have a crack.

    Forward thinking coaching

    F.ck off.

I wouldn't swap Dawson for Xavi. Nowhere near as entertaining.

Thats just semantics. We could have the best midfield in the world... if only the other teams would let us :)

If he signs it'll be the usual moaners saying cos he's not ambitious, if he doesnt they'll moan cos the club arent ambitious.
