Is it just me that noticed that none of the City players are doing well in the international teams?

None of them play the Pep way.

I forget who it was but against Serbia someone kicked an hopeless 25 yard ball to Foden which really annoyed him as it doesn't play to his strengths and isn't what City would do.

Doku played well in Belgium's first game too. He's a great talent. Fantastic skill and great pace.

Rodri allows Spain to play. Fantastic.

De Bruyne is outstanding. Doku has been good.

Ake and Akanji have done little wrong.

The English ones not so much. They look world class for city - because they are, and because they are managed by a world class coach.

For England, they don’t look great. But they aren’t alone. Bellingham? Not really. Saka? Fleeting moments. Kane? Best not comment. In fact, has anyone in the team, who just about all play for some of the biggest and best teams in Europe, has looked any good? Guehi has looked competent; mainly because we had little expectation from him.

The players and their clubs aren’t the issue.

I agree with Chef Tyke...quiet in the first game but played pretty well in the second.

I disagree mate. He was the only one against Denmark who was prepared to be adventurous.

an inch to the other side of the post and it’s a different story

his jinking run into the box was also class.

Southgate is playing him out of position, which is one reason why he’s not being as effective as he is for Man City. He’s an outstanding talent imho.

No denying he’s an outstanding talent ( for City), Southgate wouldn’t get best out of anyone but against Serbia he was woeful how he stayed on for the full game I’ll never know. Against Denmark not one player got any credit so no idea why you think he’s done well.

Fatigue in a lot of the players after treble, World Club then four in a row, the England boys though are 3 of the fittest, Stones hasn't played much football so he's not fully match sharp, Walker is still looking sharp both were injured remember in those stupid March friendlies.

Southgate doesn't buy into Foden simple as that. He clearly doesnt see what Pep sees, he won't give him license even though hes carried City whilst KDB was injured, so you're seeing half the player he is. For me, he's a better attacking option than Bellingham who tbh has had a good first 6 months at Real then dropped off, again fatigue playing a part but Foden could win the tournament for England imho if Southgate just bought into it and gave him the free role.

as above. Nearly scored when hit post, then made his way through to shoot.

    he creates those from nothing.

also , thought he tried to push forward and break through the lines.

I disagree Judd, he got the best out of me, I switched it off and went and sat in the garden, stuck some music on and had a few beers. :)

It's obvious that Southgate is cut from the same cloth as Paul Heckingbottom. He doesn't believe in number 10's. Hence him leaving two skilful ball carrying midfielders out in Grealish and Maddison and the one he has taken (Foden) playing him out of position on the left. He has this stupid misguided notion that Bellingham is a number ten based on his goal scoring streak for Real Madrid.

Also he's taken all these wide players but we don't play to their strengths. Passing sideways and backwards playing in front of the opposition. Back to Man City. I reckon that's why they only won the one trophy last season because Man Utd and Real Madrid had clearly worked them out. It's uncanny that Southgate trying to imitate Man City but not having the players to do it is the problem.
