    .... as I understand it, is awarded by people who actually pay for the privilege of doing just that. As it costs a fair few bob, they then have the unquestionable right to bestow the award on whoever, in their opinion, deserves it.</p>

    If you went round the ground and took a poll of spectators, at least half the team would be voted for by somebody.</p>

    Remember then - it's based on a relatively small number of people's opinions, and they pay the piper. It's not final, it's not binding, it has no real effect on anyone's future career, and apart from making one player feel really good about himself that day, it has no real long term effects on Barnsley's future.</p>

    Whining on to the extent of almost vilifying some poor player, who attracts the award more often than others, as if he has fixed it himself, does nothing but make you look just like that, a whiner.</p>

    If you feel it's that important to get your view across on MOTM, stump up the cash and I am sure the club will be happy to give you the opportunity.</p>

    Until then - chuffin' live with it and move on.</p>
