Gutted that he's injured. Really rate him and his determination. Wish we had a team full of Bobby dazzlers like him. Instead we have 'permanently injured when we are losing' Devaney and cart horse Carbon...come back soon, Bobby!
RE: Gutted that he's injured. Devaney doesn't like to be up for the feight does he?
How many times now, when the going has got tough, has he got injured and signalled to the bench after 30 mins?
Even Radio Sheffield commented on it today.
What's gone wrong with Devaney I don't know, but he is not the player who proimised so much after the Bradford away game.

Apparently he's not fully fit.. but wants to keep his place. Sorry, Martin, I had every belief up until after the Bradford game but he's costing us now as it's like having ten men as he always goes off injured...Disco Dev? Disappointing Dev more like! We need fully committed and up for it players not morngy gits!
RE: Apparently he's not fully fit.. How do you think McParland did?
He's supposed to be a precise crosser of the ball.
I have only seen him come on at Oakwell for the last 10 mins and he looked OK
Surely he could be a good replacement for Devaney until he gets his head reight (and his body!)
Really disappointed in Devaney - he promised so much.

RE: Apparently he's not fully fit.. If he's not 100% why the **** doesn't he accept it and get his sen reight for the play-offs? If he's good enough he won't lose his place.
Think about it for a minute J he's not fully fit. That was in your first statement. your second was that he still wants to play (commitment) and yet you still criticise him for not being up for it.
Shouldn't you direct your criticism at the management for continually picking an injured (your statement not mine) player and not allowing him time to recover fully?

it isn't his job to 'accept it' He is a footballer and obviously wants to play every game that he can. It is the managers responsibility to say to him, look devaney you arent fully fit, i'm going to put you on the bench for a few weeks so you can get yourself reight. If he doesn't do this (which he hasnt) then it is the managers fault, not the players
Are you a lawyer or a fan? I don't expect my replies to Tina to be over analysed. His commitment to the cause is lacking whether due to his fitness or otherwise it is a weak link for us.
And I agree with that but who do you blame? Do you blame a player who is clearly commited or he wouldnt be asking to play every game (as you state) but backs out of challenges etc due to injury problems or do you pick the manager that keeps putting him in the side?
For me it is the manager because he should have the teams best interests at heart and if a player isnt fit then it is his responsibility to drop him.

RE: it isn't his job to 'accept it' That's exactly what I meant. For him to accept Ritchie's decision for the good of the team and not go off in a sulk. I understand 100% what you are saying about him being a Professional and all that goes with it, that's why it makes sense for him to do what's necessary to get us promoted because from what I've seen we need him and Shukes firing on all cylinders just to get to Cardiff let alone win the damn thing!
but the only problem with that is I dont remember a single story about Devaney being dropped by Andy Ritchie and then going off in a sulk so quite how anybody can blame him for doing something that he hasnt done is amusing.

Exactly, when Shukes and Dev do their stuff we are amazing, we need em both, but not if they can't perform to their capacity.
RE: but the only problem with that is No-body said there had been but if he's worried about losing his place in the team isn't it the sort of scenario that could happen? I happen to be one of his biggest fan's btw.
