Dont deserve to even aspire. Watch out for the quotes when our best players leave 'enjoyed my time but small club, small fan base, off to bigger challenge' etc.

10,000 against Sheff Uat home. Just that.

Manchester United Treat Fans Better Than Our Club Do Though

Could you imagine all their season ticket holders queuing outside for cup tickets :D :D :D

Perhaps we should give more credit to the 10,000 who do

turn up rather than bemoan the ones who don't. £22 a match some people don't have the money mate.

Man Utd automatically charge for cup tickets to season ticket holders whether they want them or not!

Thats not treating people better is it?

and also lets not forget that the club has no good given right to customers

a lot of fans are feeling very pissed off at the moment. you shouldve heard them all in the toilets at half time complaining about the same things (wembley tickets/queues/farce etc) so why should they go out of their way and give MORE money to the club who dont give a **** about them?

    You bang on about attendances

When I bet the majority on here go to most games.

    Cut our cloth, you mean?

I agree, moaning about Davey's tactics and selection is totally irrelevant when we shouldn't even be in the Championship on the first place. We are over achieving, cos we are a small club with a small fan base.

Rubbish. We have spent more than half our existence in this division. When I first went in the 50s we were averaging 19,000. Problem is the prices have gone up way above inflation, jobs have decreased, and the prawn sandwich brigade have taken over the game + Murdoch.

You are living in the past

20 years ago when we were established in the 2nd tier, teams like Reading and Wigan barely existed. The fact is we've moved backwards and been over taken, Barnsley is in a time warp where a new Wetherspoons is celebrated more than a new signing. 22 quid for a ticket is below average for the Championship, but the so called poor can find the money for a cab into town and a skin full of beer most weekends. Third World community.

RE: You are living in the past

    Reading - Madjeski

    Wigan - Whelan

That's the main reason they're where they are and I'm not detracting from Mr Cryne's input.

Also I'm not sure but aren't Preston and Burnley only a bit up on attendances.

Oh BTW if a skin full and a cab is what people want to spend their money on that's up to them. Next door took his lad yesterday, now he's not a beer drinking chavvie type, far from it in fact. Asked him what he thought, he said poor. Never commented on the value for money but at over £30 I know that will be on his mind.

Please don't paint all Barnsley folk as beer swilling chavs, there's a lot of young families who's choice may be the season tickets or the family holiday. Their priorities may be different but that does not mean they are wrong.

We have a small fan base

And in a working class community with football low down the priority list and perceived as expensive, we need to accept that Davey and the team are battling against the odds to keep us up. Less of the criticism and a better grasp of reality would be nice to see on here.

RE: We have a small fan base

I agree with you but what can be done? Fans of most clubs moan even the big four.

What in your opinion is our natural position in the league structure based on fan base, facilities, owner etc.

Me ? I think we will struggle to maintain our Championship status in the long term.
