Anyone watching? Bibao look a decent side, got United on the ropes at times. Could easily be winning this game.
Got it on my sky sport app thingy. They are statistically loving them all over so two one united it'll finish.
Haven't seen the game, but I'm really chuckling at that. I have to say, whenever I see Rafael I think he's pants. Are they competing with each other for worst left-back in the world?!!
That's shown me! Maybe I'm getting him confused with his just-as-pants brother. One of them plays at left back!
Anyone think this game confirms what I have been thinking for a while - that the standard of football at Premiership level has declined over the past three years? I can't put my finger on why, but there is the indiscipline which has ruined Chelsea and the failure of some teams to mount more than token opposition against the likes of Manchester United and City. It seems to me to have made it an increasingly sterile competition. Spanish football, by contrast, seems to be thriving at all levels and this was reflected in the standard of performance of Athletic Bilbao. I think that 3-2 flattered United and that, maybe, 4-1 would have been fair. At least Fergue admitted they were outplayed. Interesting to see them try to win over there, though. A lot of this is psychology - I think that United were caught cold by Bilbao's performance. In the away match, United are likely to be better prepared and Bilbao could feel they will be hanging on. I can't see United progressing, but stranger things have happened, as was nearly the case at the Emirates. Too many players not putting in the graft for their money in English football for me. I thought Nani was pants when he came on - reminded me of Diego Leon in the 4-0 at Carrow Road. I would have had Welbeck on for Hernandez, especially as the game was so stretched and United had counter-attacking options even though it was at home. I bet Hill liked Bilbao's high-energy game!
