Last year, about the time of the Colchester home game, my daughter, her partner, and I sponsored Adam Eckersley's home shirt in the name of my grandson Jack Eland. He's only 2 years old, and we thought it would get him into the ways of supporting the Reds. At the end of the season, he would get a signed shirt and his photo with the player.

As we all know, Eckersley had to go back to United when he was injured. So at the presentation at the end of the season, the shirt was given to my daughter and Jack by Simon Davey. Eckersley was invited to come over, but he said MUFC would not give him clearance to come. BFC officials said the shirt would be sent to Old Trafford for him to sign and returned to us when it came back. This was on the day of the Leicester game.

    We're still waiting.

My daughter has rung BFC a number of times, asking what the situation is. To be honest, I won't blame BFC as they have sent the shirt and tried to chase MUFC. They have rung them, left mobile numbers, left home numbers, have emailed them, etc. To date they have received nothing, and are rightly upset with the attitude shown by MUFC to myself and my daughter as fans.

We have emailed MUFC and apart from the standard reply, have received nothing.

I mean, How long does it take to sign the shirt, hand it to one of the MUFC staff, and ask them to post it back?

Who do I blame? Adam ["I'm used to training with the Man Utd first-team"] Eckersley? Definitely. MUFC? Yes - They should have made him sign the shirt.

BFC have agreed to supply us with a shirt signed by one of last seasons first team, along with a signed photo, and I thank them for at least trying to put the situation right.

But I am still as angry as hell with MUFC.

    To be honest

After that performance I'd far rather have a shirt signed by any one of our players - poor performance from the Worlds Biggest club that is

    Agree completely with that

But I am still angry over the whole affair.

And why should they get away with it?

    Sponsored Shirt.......

problems happen regularly. Good to see Barnsley trying to do something about it. I mean he cannot think he's a big shot, because lets be fair, he was crap.

Sounds like Adam's performance as a person is pretty similar to his performance as a footballer
