Martinez said in his press conference this morning he isn't for sale at any price. Wouldnt expect him going this summer
That to me indicates that the board are just using this verbal tactic of saying the highest bidder will win......I think he'll be gone my mid September for about £38m
The Man Utd bid includes Jonny Evans in part exchange. That would surely impact on our cut of the fee so be much better if they could sell him for cash only.
they take the value of the part exchange into account I believe. Otherwise they could swap him for four or five players and we'd get nothing - we get (I assume 15%) of the value of the transfer, not just the cash. I believe that is how it works anyway.
No it won't. We'll simply agree on a value for the Evans aspect of the transfer and get a percentage of that. Shouldn't be too difficult to work out if Chelsea have made a bid of £30m. If Everton accept the player exchange from Man United we can safely assume that they value Evans at £30m less the cash that Man United pay. Remember we have a sports lawyer as chairman!
I don't think it's the right time for Everton to sell Stones. He'll be first choice for England at the Euro's and the fee will probably be upwards of £40m in a years time. As well as that they've lost Distin & Alcaraz this summer so to have to replace 3 centre backs in one window is pretty excessive for a club that's had a lot of success due to its stability over the last few years.
