Hello Quick question re: the above I e-mailed the club today, making the point that I'd been to three home games this season but hadn't kept my stubs, and would it be possible for the club to pick up my details from their database, etc (sorry, I know this is quite an old debate now) Anyway, this was their response: "Hello Tickets go on general sale tomorrow to anyone on our database who have previously bought tickets from us. The reason we ask for the ticket stubs is to mark them to ensure they are not passed on to non Barnsley supporters. Kind Regards Box Office" Am I being dim or is that response a bit ambiguous? The first statement suggests I can go through and buy tickets tomorrow without any stubs but the second sentence seems to contradict this. I just don't want to take the morning off tomorrow, queue up and then be told that I still need stubs... Any ideas TIA
If you could get tickets without stubs and by simply being on the database our official ***** would have said i'd imagine.
thats very ambiguous if you can get tickets without a stub from tomorrow then how the hell are supporters going to know about it? The club have totally failed to advertise this fact.
RE: thats very ambiguous Thanks - glad to see I'm not along in finding the e-mail a wee bit on the ambiguous side... Well the first sentence alone means I'm tempted to join the queue tomorrow (with a copy of the box office e-mail in my hand). If nothing else I can get my tickets for Sheff U when I'm there!
Its been clarified on the official site now http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1831063,00.html You should be fine CARLING CUP TICKETS TO GO ON OPEN SALE ON TUESDAY Posted on: Mon 19 Oct 2009 TICKETS for our highly anticipated Fourth Round match in the Carling Cup against Manchester United on Tuesday 27th October will go on open sale tomorrow (Tuesday 20th October). All who have previously purchased a ticket from our Box Office in the last five years and are on our database will be able to purchase tickets. Ticket prices are £25 for adults and £15 for concessions. The box office will be open from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Someone realised theyve made a balls up and changed the arrangements? Have they realised we couldn't sell out under the existing arrangements so had to change them? Also how can it be open sale if you have to be an existing customer to buy one?
beat you to it - see my post timed 2 minutes earlier But its not been there very long and certainly wasnt there when Dreamy posted
Obviously we havent sold out under the previous arrangements or there is no point. I am guessing that they cant go on completely open sale due to some agreement with the police to prevent Man U fans buying tickets in our end. Wouldnt have hurt to advertise this a bit earlier that if tickets are still availlable they will be sold to existing database customers but then again if we had sold out before hand there would have been complaints anyway - Club cant really win
Hadnt realised Dreamys post was so new It wasnt there mid afternoon - I suspect it was put up just before Rob went home then
