    That's terrific news for Bobby

    He'll be guaranteed a decent crowd now. Manchester United, despite being disliked by some of our fans, have an excellent history of providing the opposition and guest players for testimonial matches for Barnsley Football Club employees.

    Don't think I've ever been to a testimonial match before - how are they normally priced? If it's sensible prices then he should get 12-15 thousand. Bobby does seem to have people around him who are better at promoting his events than the club are at promoting their own so at least everyone will know about it anyway.

    If it's priced sensible (15 quid adults), not unreserved seating and Man United can guarantee the likes of Rooney/RVP will be starting I don't see why it won't be sold out or at least close to it. United are the most popular club in the world so will likely sell out the north stand for a start. The town is full of United fans and to see players like that people who haven't seen a live game in ages will make the effort.

    They have tens of million fans around the world. I'm sure within the UK they can find less than 6k to come fill the away end. For many of their glory supporting fans it will be the only chance they get to watch the team live, as they will have little chance in the premiership and champions league. Hernandez/Wellbeck up front would have an affect on the crowd compared to the alternative. We will have to wait until more details about it comes out and see if we've been guaranteed the strongest possible side or fringe players.
