When do they announce the result? I hope its not before Sunday as it's frequently the case that the team with the Manager of the month award loses their next game !
both are nailed on for me, especially given where we were before the run started. can't see how anybody else even comes close

I read and hear a lot of people who say the managers award is a curse. Are there any stats to prove this?
A sports journalist did an article on it a while back and it was discussed on here. The form of teams whose manager wins the manager of the month tends to drop, but that's because their form during the month when the manager won the award was so good and teams rarely carry on in such a rich vein of form for an extended period of time. We've got 5 league games this month. If we win 3, draw 1 and lose 1 it will be a very good month, but not as good as last month when we won all 5, so the old manager of the month curse will have struck again, according to the stats. As far as how the team performs in the very next game is concerned, they were actually more likely to win than lose.
