Been on sky bet and i have noticed the maximum bet on Grant Mccann is £400 where as Hirst and Ainsworth the maximum bet is £20. Am I looking too far into this or is this evidence that the bookies don't really believe Grant Mccann will be manager and therefore playing a trick to try get people to bet. I've heard from numerous places that we are trying to talk to Ainsworth such as Nixon claiming Ainsworth is the front runner on twitter as well as sky sports etc. I think I'm just looking too far into it :)

Odds 1.25 so they would lose £100 for max stake and likewise £20 on Ainsworth would mean a loss of £140 for max stake so I have essentially just proved myself wrong

Have you actually logged in and tried entering a stake (without clicking "bet", obviously)?

This appointment will be a big test of the new board's resolve and commitment. Sky commentary said that 'Paul Hurst is odds-on for the Ipswich manager's job.' If we think that he really is the man for the job, we will be out-bidding them - we could afford to do so without compromising players' salary structures. We could do the same to compete with Sunderland for Jack Ross (what happened to him in the stakes?) Some team has a clear run now for Hurst. If we are in for any others from play-off sides, we should know by the end of this week what is going on …. unless whoever we want 'needs more time to think about it.' Wouldn't say no to Steve Agnew either - he has picked up a lot of experience in coaching at both Middlesbrough and Villa. Ainsworth would be a good choice, but Hurst is still my number one, as he knows the division better, as well as having such a good track record.

    It’s probably either-
    1) they have a strong feeling it’s not going to be him. And are therefore accepting higher bets.

    2) it’s just based on liabilities and their potential loss so far if Ainsworth or Hurst Get the job.

    I’m guessing it’s 2.

@thomasevans wtf are you talking about we can afford to outbid Ipswich and Sunderland on wages?

Ipswich were paying Mick £1 million a year. I’d guess Morais was on no more than a quarter of that. We’re now a division lower.

Sunderland are still getting parachute payments and will probably double our average attendance.

“But we’re owned by Biillionaires”. So was BHS...
