Sacking Mr Hill which should have been done sooner for but having done that and then not having a man in the frame to take over seemed to be the farce that started, being turned down twice when you read that the club has had 20,30 even 70 application depending who you read.

Then we still employ part of the Hill set up nothing against Flicker seems a great bloke, then player s saying give it to him?afraid of change being in the comfort zone.Just wondered what happened to all the post earlier wanting a clear out and starting with a new manager and assistant............all gone quite. But for some reason Flicker is the man, just wonder how long it is before we are all on the bandwagon to get him out.

If Flicker is going to be manager until the end of the season as reports suggest then I will still go as it's the team I am supporting but it's another case of manager to the end of the season then a summer of what, will he wont he who's staying who's going,it's getting more like a soap opera.

My choice would have been Hignett or Redders with Flicker still on the staff a bright young set up,Not saying that Flicker won't do a job but how much contact will he have with his best mate Mr Hill. What if Hill joins another championship club and then wants Flicker to join him in the summer IT IS JUST DRAGGING ON.

The prospect of yet another summer where we can't plan because of the potential of us having no manager.

That had crossed my mind, BUT what are the chances of Hill getting another job at this level? Also, if Flicker has proved himself as a capable manager in his own right (ie kept us up, or we've gone down but made a good fist of it) why would be want to go back to being an assistant? Just my take on things.

    I wonder whether

Flitcroft has asked for Mellon & Scott to be put on the payroll? If so, the delay might have something to do with Mellon's contractual issues with Fleetwood Town. Pure guesswork on my part, mate.

    I was merely suggesting

As to why there may have been a delay in the announcement, mate. That's all.

That will need some negotiation I think, Kev. They will have been on no more than week to week contracts while Flicker's future was being decided. It is probably business as usual until they have had chance to discuss terms with Don. Who knows, Mellon may have his eye on a manager's job himself?

I wonder if Flicker gets a pay rise?

    It's no secret

I wanted Sean O'Driscoll as our new manager. However, now David Flitcroft has been appointed, I'll give him my full backing. He's certainly set himself a high standard with yesterday's display. How anyone can claim it was no different to any other these past couple of months, or so, simply beggars belief. Now that he has got the job, I hope the club can get him the backroom staff he particularly wants. If that means Mellon & Scott, so be it.
At least everyone can now concentrate on Championship survival, without any other distractions.
