Or taking the complete opposite approach of last season where we signed anybody as and when they became available.

He'll pay for his hesitation in the transfer market with his job before October if he holds off like he suggests

Is it not quite a sensible thing to say in public - i.e. message to agents - you won't hold us to ransom, if you don't like our terms, we move on.

What your saying is you hold out as long as you want because we'll hang on for ya, then on the last week when they go somewhere else we're left struggling for players

It's a brave move. It could very easily go the other way, Danny could play the waiting game, land the targets he's wanted all summer and we could be up by easter.

To be honest I don't see much point of giving in on all the players he's being made to wait on, and just sign his plan B and C players just for the sake of it. Like I say, it's a gamble, only time will tell if it pays off or not.

"Hundreds of irons in the fire" O ar?
When all else fails for the players and we end up as the last resort we end up with the attitude " well it's a job" or "better than nowt.

Can't see us having any quality .

He could be playing with his own future. So far we've seen a relegation and a poor selection of players brought in. If he waits until the end of August we might not gel until towards christmas and if we are only around midtable during the festive period his future will be massively questioned.

The fact that folk are already talking about him playing with his future or only having til October proves he's on a hiding to nowt.

He's had to let 14 players or something go. We're up **** creek in terms of the lads he had not giving a **** and not being good enough for the money they were earning. He's been brought in to sort it out but anyone that expects him to do it in the space of 3 months are mental. It'll take 3 years of tweaking and building - he's starting from scratch FFS.

He said we need to get to a point where we aren't buying a new squad every summer. That can be done in a week obviously.

This is the new reality people. Get wid it.

Exactly. Big turnover of players this year with an eye on:

    a. next season and laying some foundations for future whilst competing
    b. giving our lads an opportunity to play and learn, something that everyone wants and then complains about

I reckon he's doing it to wind everyone up. Don't sign anyone Danny lad then blame the board. Watch this place go up in smoke.

It's all talk though we'll still sign players on one year deals and wait until contracts are done to try get them to sign on again

Well I'll tell thi summat - if we are 'only' mid/lower table but building, and 'the board' bends under pressure from't internet and sacks him that is me properly done.

We've talked for years on here about building for the future, why aren't our youngsters played, money's ruining football and all that moral high ground crap - well let's see how many can cope with that reality.

    I'd agree with that.

    3 years. Minimum.

PS - was talking to someone. As long as I see us playing young lads and giving them time and looking like we have a f.cking idea what we're doing in terms of style and development then I don't give a **** where we finish next year.

If that happens it won't be Wilson's doing.

Aye it went from giving Flicker 2,3,4 year deal before he gets snapped up to wanting him sacked 3 month, and less in some cases, into a new season.

Can only see Danny fairing slightly better if results/ League position aren`t up to expectations.

I wanted him gone after November. I remember watching us and thinking that he wasn't doing anything. I don't mean jumping about on the sidelines, I mean developing a style or building anything. He'd had all Summer with increased funds and he then had to go out and sign 3 prem players on loan in September. He'd signed his mates and released or pushed out top, experience pros. He talked up our young lads and then pushed them to the side. He just wasn't what I thought he was going to be and I was gutted.

If Danny turns out the same then I'll want him sacked. But if he plays our young lads, shows some signs of a style of play and seems patient in what he's trying to build then I'm happy. It's not a 'just do what you want and we'll support it' but it's trust that he will.
