Anyone know how to get there? It's near the Uni I think but trying to work out the route. I'm driving and want to park near the venue but where car will be safe
M62 or Woodhead pass Then follow signs for Manchester
Straight on at first roundabout then you'll see a jet garage where you turn directly into then get out of the car and ask the woman from Mozambique where the **** it is.

Hey Ady.... Is that you in the rather fetching red and white hat on Cazi's photo blog?
Tha looks just like I thought you would if it is!!
You look like a taxi driver so good work on the vocation. Either that or a steward at the match, I can't make me mind up?

RE: I thinks its on Oxford Rd Yep it's on Oxford Rd Probably go over M62 as Tintwhistle can be a right bottleneck. I know way in for MEN Arena so directions from there would be ok
It is part of the uni, its quite close to the bridgewater hall, palace theatre area, opposite end of Deansgate to the arena
RE: I thinks its on Oxford Rd Just checked on AA route finder and looks like over Woodhead is probably best as brings me into right side of Manchester. I'll be setting off about 5:30.
RE: It is part of the uni, i hate driving in Manchester and always get lost, so wouldn't be much good giving directions. Sorry
RE: I thinks its on Oxford Rd You should have no probs setting off from tarn at that time, most of the traffic will be gone at mottram.
also it doesnt help that. The missus and i are playing a drinking game where we write a word on a piece of paper and if i say her word i have to have a shot of 12 yr old cuban rum and vice versa
Here you go. Piece of p*ss From Barnsley take A628 / A57 (or from M62, the M60 S/E to J24=A57) to RHS of map. Where A57 intersects with Stockport Rd & Brunswick Street is the big roundabout with Manchester Appollo on it. Honestly you can't miss it. Take the Brunswick St. exit and follow straight across Upper Brook Street, turning left at the end onto Oxford Rd. Academy is down 200 yds or so on the RHS. Plenty of parking around Dover St or they also have an "official" car park in the Contact Theatre next to the venue. (Access via Denmark Street on map below. Turn right on to Acomb Street and right at end, over the humps to the car park entrance two hundred metres up on the left. You need pound coins to operate the barrier, according to the website. Don't know about "safe" mind, a relative concept, particularly in Manchester!! Now go on, can I be beaten on directions? I ask you.
RE: Here you go. Piece of p*ss Cheers for that! Not far from Manchester Apollo then........use dto go there alot years ago....also car broke into there so hoping for a NCP car park or something where it won't be too obvious where I've gone. I'll remove my BFC mini-kit from the back window though.
Is Woodhead still closed?? Tried to get to Manchester that way about a month ago, but I only got as far as the Flouch roundabout and the road was closed so I had to divert through the mountains!! Not a journey I particularly enjoyed!! *rolls eyes* I usually park in the NCP at Piccadily Station, it's not far to walk to any of the city centre venues from there...
