    I think we need to pay a visit to Southampton's Academy. They seem to unearth and nurture some great talent, which they regularly sell-on for a fortune.

    They give them a chance in the first team. Calum Chambers, 18, playing games in the Premier League. Luke Shaw, 18, playing games in the Premier League.

    Great philosophy to adopt for youth development.

    Adam Lallana is another one, he's been a regular for Southampton for the last 4 or 5 years now, and he's only in his early 20's I think.

    I think they were forced to rely on the younger players when they were last relegated to league 1 because of the financial state of the club. Thankfully for them, they have an exceptional academy which has produced some incredible talent in the last 20 years.
