    Don't tell me though that German teams don't spend money getting players like him on 4/5 year contracts.

    Of course they spend money on getting them on those contracts , but the vast majority of German sides have very little debt. They are getting bigger crowds whilst the Prem sides are getting lower crowds. The main thing is though they dont flood their teams with over paid Foriegners, like we do, Yes there are some but I am sure there is something like three quarters of the Bundesliga players available for selection to the German National side! Only about a third of the Prem are English!

    The Bundesliga has just signed a new TV contract giving them lots more money over the next few seasons. A lot of pundits are predicting they will have a lot more success over the next few years as the over leagues start to suffer from bad financial planning and dropping revenues.
