What a buy.Outstanding today both in the air and on the ground.Pearson also excellent. The defence looked mostly comfortable, the midfield passed the ball quite well.I thought the midfield could join the strikers better. But all in all happy with 3 points and I've seen enough to suggest we will improve the more games we play.

Quite often I see on here this tendency to overpraise.

Roberts regularly overcooked forward passes in the first half in a manner reminiscent of last season - defender floating it forward to no effect.

He also nearly got caught out once or twice on the ball, overplaying.

The saving tackle he had to make in the first half arose through his own initial lack of judgement.

Overall he had a good game. To go on and assert more than that is wishing.

    Played well, as did Mawson.

He did one similar at Chesterfield. Nearly broke their player in two but won the ball perfectly.

He's proof that a commanding defender doesn't have to be a f*cking donkey. Good signing.

There were certainly no dreadful performances from anyone, but likewise no-one was at their best, except perhaps Davies

I also think he is a very good acquisition. Heart and soul but a,so commanding in the air and despit a few misplaced passes a,ways looking to make a pass when possible....and he will improve. Together with Alf, they will be formidable.

Made a couple of errors, but then instantly made up for them all (barring that miss they had when it was easier to score). My man of the match just ahead of Scowen. He looks an absolute animal, just the sort of player we've been missing, a proper centre half.

Quite often I see the opposite - gratuitous slagging off.

Didn't go today but I thought he was excellent at Chesterfield and S****horpe. Commanding, brilliant in the air and no donkey on the ground.

He also has really nice hair.

We haven't had a solid defence for many a year so very encouraging to hear and looks like we may have a much more reliable base to work from
