Ron Futcher Hat-Trick, then the silly tw@t gets sent off and we lose 5-3. Lets hope lightning doesn't strike twice!

We were 3-0 down that day as I remember

Pulled back to 3-3, then he gets sent off and we lose 5-3.

Big Ron then decided to practice some joinery on the dressing room door and gets fined for it.

Now I remember.

Think u r right.

But the 5-3 against Chester was the first ever match where 8 different players scored I believe. Can't remember the season though - sometime in the 80s.

Your thinking of a 5 - 3 win at Brum

Eight different scorers. Even Tony Rees notched against his old club. 1988-9

I am right

If you're that confident, then the loser can buy the winner a meal at the Dil Raj INCLUDING a bottle of champagne.

I'm sorry to say ..

Kev's right on this one but you did mention Ron talking the dressing room door off its hinges. Somewhere in my archives I've got an interview with the Futcher twins on the Monday after the game.
Dialogue goes something like:-

Interviewer: Well Paul I think its right to say that your brothers actions cost you the game on Saturday what did you think.
Paul: i thought his actions were selfish, unprofessional and downright childish and he should have a long hard look at himself over this incident.
Interviewer: Well Ron thats pretty strong stuff from your Brother have you anything to say in your defence.
Ron: No, I agree with everything he's said.

Classic Stuff

Can't find a link, been searching for about 30 mins

I remember a mate of mine commenting on our great comeback from 3-0 down. Won't believe anything else until I find a definitive link to an archive or summat.

Have to say the opinion seems to be against me

Must be all the curries affecting my memory cells. Hope Big Lil likes Asti Spumante!

Would still like to see a link though just to twist the knife.
