Is his injury a bitter blow to us?

Haven't seen any of the new players play, so have no idea.

With Hassel our, who will play in the full back roles, I expect Kozluk will be one, what about the other?

Roberto Carlos will be the left back.

I only saw the Wigan pre-season game , and I think we are going to have some highs and lows this season.

Our new defenders look like they fancy playing a bit of football so be prepared for a few comedy passes at the back, lets hope it doesnt get the fans on the players back.

Werling is good going forward (overlapping, crossing etc), but hes a bit short so isnt the best at defending.

    From what Ive seen, anyway.

He got taken to the cleaners by the Wigan right-winger and as there isnt anyone in this league as good as him we will have to wait and see how he progresses.

I think Werling main strength is going forwards and getting crosses in. As I am hoping we play two wide men in everygame as well we could well end up being a bit open to counter attack as Werling wasnt get much support from the man in front of him.

    Better than

    both Heckingbottom and Eckersley.

Mind you, that shed at half time was better than the Royston Dynamo last season

    RE: Better than

Defensively, I wouldnt say he's better than Heckingbottom.. yet.

    Game of opinions

Hes a better footballer, hecky got murdered by any half decent right sided player last year. Huckerby had a birthday.

And also he doesnt go off wondering like hecky use to, (admittedly ive only seen Werling play once).

If Heckingbottom wasnt from Barnsley he would have been hammered by the fans last year.

Agreed Heckster was a total liability defending.

However he was useful at attacking set-pieces as he was quite good in the air

Wonder if the idea is to play McCann on left side mid and Werling as overlapping LB?

It was McCann who was in front of Werling.

I'd play Devaney on the left as whilst he isnt the best at getting back he looks more likely than McCann or Ricketts.
