have to admit, didnt think much to him when he first started for us, looked too light weight and gave the ball away too easily. But massive improvement since the Liverpool game, and on Saturday was flying into tackles like a proper English full back, and lightening quick. Can definately see him as first choice right back next season.
I'm yet to be convinced I wasn't impressed at all when he first got in the team and even though he has improved I'm still not sure he's got it.
RE: I'm yet to be convinced I thought similar but the last few games he's toughened up, saw him take out Varney and Iwelumo on Sat and looks like he's been told that full backs priority is defending first and foremost. could do with filling out a bit but if he shows that kind of commitment into the tackle, he'll go far.
View from the Ponty: all decent football obscured. East Stand Lower reserve all rights on critique of full backs.
Nah If you're sat near half way line, you're always half the pitch away from where a full back does the business. In Ponty End we have a quality view for one half of the game. No idea why anyone would sit in the East stand. Who wants a bad view of both goals?
You'll have seen him get turned like a novice then. That's the defending part. Not good.
Let's see what happens this summer, Davey said some of his signings would be better next season after a year's experience at this level/in this country, fair enough. However, if we're waiting until the end of April next season to secure Championship status then questions have to be asked.
With Davey delegating spotting a striker to someone who has a clue, and DeSilva back, a top 10 finish should be achievable.

Rather see him and Hassel swop places. Or shove Van Homoet up to to compete with Campbell-Rice/Devaney.
More than that, he kept going despite an ugly challenge and being hurt, wish more players would do the same.
RE: According to some but the local lads are the best at keeping their ale down when bouncing reight high on the trampoline.
