Thought I'd heard it right on GMTV before coming out for work this morning.

    Very proud indeed

I taught his two younger brothers. Staff say that you wouldn't have thought it of Kostas.
He also walked to Greece to do his national service over there!

    RIP Kostas

Also forgot to add that his parents are two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. Very sad news for them.

WTF is Frank Gardner the BBC Security correspondent on about??....

"..the UK government's position was probably going to lead to accusations of double standards"

i.e. Going to fight for IS ..stopped at Heathrow
Going to fight against IS ..silence

    Is BBC 'Sh*t stirring here?

Surely the difference is that IS are the sworn enemy of the West and our liberal way of life and vow to ill all un-believers. So what are these '"double standards" one goes to undermine our way of life and commit atrocities and another goes at great personal cost to fight our sworn enemy.
I hate all war and abhor all 'Glory seekers' but this guy was a trained soldier who felt he could put his skills to best use to defeat a barbaric and brutal enemy. He went in knowing the risks, which in my eyes makes him a true hero.

Gardner should NOT be trying to make political points out of the death of a brave man following his conscience. Shame on him.

Mohammed emwazi kills innocent people who are non muslim. Kosta has gone over to fight against i.s (terrorists) each to there own opinions but his family can be proud of him.

I agree about Emwazi, but he is doing exactly the same as you praised the other lad for, he is standing up for HIS beliefs!! I think he is totally deluded and he is not reading his Koran properly, but they are his beliefs !

He gave his life fighting the personification of evil. He dies a hero and we should all be very proud of what he has done. RIP.

I don't think deluded even comes close. Beheading innocent people is not fighting for your beliefs, it is cold blooded and cowardly murder. There is no justification for anything that ISIS stand for.
