He is well regarded in the academy setup. Where is he from? I thought Ronnie would have got the interim chance.

Anybody know Mark Burton? always a chance for a 'Cinderella'. Say the players respond and they win four straight...

I once met a young academy coach in the Darley (Top House, wuzbrer dale) one Sunay aft ernoon 'bout eight years ago... would that be him?

Played a couple of games before injury didn't captain first team. Nice lad.

Mark Burton came through our academy at around the same time as Andy Liddell. A lot was expected of him, but he had to retire very early due to injury. Only played for the first team 5 times.

Whatever happens in the next couple of games I hope we don't appoint Burton or Heckingbottom. I'm almost certain we will see an improved performance on Saturday as the players will hopefully react.

We are now in need of experience more than ever. Someone to carry on the rebuild. Sacking Danny was a big enough risk without replacing him with someone with no experience.

And I will stand by this post if we win 4-0 on Saturday and everyone thinks we are going to win the league.

Mark Burton along with Ronnie Branson are two of the five most important people within our club if you ask me for what they have done to produce academy lads. The last thing we should do is look at one or both of them to take over full time at first team.

He captained the first team at Bristol City when the captain went off and he through his arm band to Mark.I always thought it happened at Notts County but Mark said it was Bristol.

Now I think about it, the lad I met in the Top House was the young physio guy who went on to massage his trade at a big club or the England scene..
