One of the names people have been bandying about on here as a possible replacement for Lee Johnson. I'm not saying he's a bad manager, far from it. But this is the same Mark Cooper who built a decent side, had it sold from under him, and was unable to replace the players he'd lost, leading to his team actually being worse than we are now. Why would anyone expect him to do any better at Oakwell under similar financial constraints? It defies logic.
Thing is the only player Lee Jay has had to sell is Mason Holgate he has made a rod for his own back with his negative tactics playing a ***** Connor Wilkinson before our own players. Playing nick liability townsend before Davis.
I was talking more about a lack of money to spend than anything else. We don't actually have anyone worth owt in the transfer market on current form.
Agree about Wilkinson - Chesterfield well taken goal aside he has offered us nothing at all so should go back soonest Townsend though - he may have had some dodgy moments but, at the same time, he has pulled off some fantastic saves. Every keeper in the world is capable of making a fool of himself - look at Gomez yesterday letting that soft one through his hands for Watford. Townsend is young and will get better. W need someone to dominate our defence though and tell them what to do, while covering his whole area. What we could do with is an on form and fit Ross Turnbull but we let him go. Wonder if we could get Heinz Muller back
Int Johnson still here..? Having said that , hypothetically I'd worry that he'd be LJ mark 2 swapping like for like.
Thing is even if John i gets half a million quid to spend.....will he be told to spend it on under 21"s.
