    Totally Underwhelmed

I really really hope if he gets the job that he does well, hes done a reasonable job at Rotherham but to me it smacks of the Steve Parkin appointment.

Not sure about Danny but I have £5 on him at 16/1 so it would be nice in that respect..

My preference, which obviously means nothing, would be Jewell or Curbs (remember Curbs was in the frame for the England job before Capello)

I'm sure the fans will support him ( I will anyway).

But my preference would be for a manager with proven championship experience. We are taking a risk with someone who has only managed in League 2.

He's done well, no one can argue with that, but I wonder if he can hack it at this level.

If he wants the job, only time will tell.

    RE: Totally Underwhelmed

If they are talking to Robins then maybe that in itself rules out Curbs and Jewell. Different ends of the spectrum regarding salary. Talking to Robins says to me that is the sort of level they are wanting to pay. Adkins maybe? Wilson would also be on that sort of salary. Unless they genuinely think Robins is the best man for the job. He has done a good job at Rotherham, promotion form last season and so far this season, albeit at L2 level, but he has L2 resources at his disposal, maybe its all relative? Who knows? I know I will give him my support if he is appointed. He may not be experienced at this level, but he has more experience as a manager than Davey did when appointed, and not much less that Ritchie when he got the job. Robins has also experienced being an Assistant Manager. He has played at the top level and mixed in those circles, building contacts.

at least it's a Manager this time

and not the umpteenth internal promotion from either player or academy. Whilst some have done well, this bloke seems to be doing well all the time. I'm happy with this one, and hope we can finally have a crowd that get's behind everyone, rather than the last 12 months where players are **** scared of doing owt wrong at the well for fear of getting lynched. Remember all the pleas, we can be the 12th man, but unfortunately we will always have the ones who thrive on failure just to moan. Thats all

Most top managers have learned the ropes first, and most managers with Championship experience (Davey) have being sacked for one reason or another!

Any one Noticed Its the PRO Davey camp who are not happy with Robins..

Interesting when Davey was appointed people gave him the chance albeit many were not happy with the cheap option.
I would like to give Robins the chance

Yes I've noticed that. I put it down to the fact they're bitter that "we" have been right about Davey all along and now they're desperate to have a pop about his replacement.

I'm not against Robins and I've stuck up for Davey a lot over the years. On the other hand Albatross didn't like Davey and isn't keen on Robins either. That's without looking too deep. SO YOU'RE BOTH WRONG.

His son as also just dropped into the Championship

Without having to learn his trade in the lower leagues as well.
