we have no one in defence who will jump for headers. campbell-ryce has blood behind his eye from the ball hitting him.
    at hospital now.
thomson basically wasn't good enough and took him off because we were getting overrun.
hume, hammil and jcr were plus points.
hoping for new faces before tuesdays game

Thomson signed on the evidence of one game against a team that played against us and who never needed to get out of first gear, what does this tell you about the previous manager

I think he just has a kink for cheap foreign players. Im sure I heard Robins mention bringing in a new chief scout in a recent interview.

    lets get this straight

why exactly would simon davey who had a pretty uninspiring short football career with two or three lower league clubs and has since then coached kids until arriving at barnsley have loads of amazing contacts in all corners of the world?

Much more likely that the CLUB has contacts via a recognised scouting system than that simon davey former kids coach has them

    RE: lets get this straight

Who said they were amazing contacts? Many of the players have failed. But he did travel around a bit while doing his coaching badges. I am sure I read somewhere that he spent a year doing research and coaching jobs around the globe while he was doing his badges. He will have built up contacts, maybe not at the top level. If it is the clubs scouting network then why did the foreign buying only get going once Davey joined us? And why can't we think of any scouts (unless you can)? Last one I can remember was Wilkinson, that was a few years ago. I think Robins coming in will be bringing his own 'contacts' to the club. I don't doubt that the club (through PC) have scouting contacts they can use but do we employ a dedicated scout?

That is my point. The club don't have a scouting network to speak of. They have the contacts of the staff they employ, managers, players etc. Daveys contacts have now gone, Robins has, and will, bring his own. Or am I wrong, do we have scouts contracted to us?

So because he wasn't an amazing footballer he can't have contacts. Biggest pile of **** I've read on here I think.
