He would be my first choice to try and get, might be unproven in the Championship but everyone has to start somewhere. He has done a terrific at Rotherham with a points deduction taken into account and managing a team with a little money. He deserves his chance to manage in a higher league and why not Barnsley. I would not think that Rotherham have a say in the matter if he does want to come that is, whether we are willing to compensate well that is another matter! Forget Steve Coppell, Strachan, Alan Curbishley etc etc it’s just not going to happen, if we are including them names we might as well go all out and get Cappello!

    Mark Robins = Steve Parkin

would be a disaster imho, almost as bad an idea as a Redfearn return. League 2 is a different world to the Championship, FACT.

i have it on very good authority that he's on £60k a year at rotherham so compensation could be no more than £120k

I think it may be too much of a risk though. Would prefer Adkins or O'Driscoll - probably Adkins. He has done extremely well at Scunny with limited funds.

Wouldn't mind Boothroyd or Jewell. Both live locally and are looking to get back in the game.

Talk of Coppell is far fetched, agree completely.

I would also welcome Danny Wilson back.

I reckon he should be given his chance to manage at a higher level and until a club gives him his chance nobody will know if he can cut it at a higher level. Got to be better than someone from the academy! Might be a risk but look at his record at Rotherham it's very good given their circumstances. I for one would not have a problem with him being the next BFC manager...

I have one worry about Mark Robins

Although he is on the list of those I would happily accept, my concern is that, on the radio, he sounds a bit, well, dour.

Not a problem for me personally - I couldn't give a toss if he talks as if he's on tamazipan, but I know how that would wind a good few up on here the first time things go a bit Pete Tong. :) :)

O'driscoll is the most boring manager I have ever heard on the radio but he aint doing a bad job is he?

One thing about Robins is that he clearly knows how to get the best out of his players and when you look at our team if we had a good man manager we would be a good team, we all know they are better than they are playing, we just need someone to get it out of them on a regular basis.

Personally i dont see why we should pay compensation for Robbins when there are more expirienced managers out there with better track records who are available.

Mark Robins is a bit dour .. better than being the life and soul of the party with nothing upstairs.
