To mark Robins 7 year anniversary as Coventry City boss, I have a quick question. Where do we think Barnsley would be now in terms of league position, if Patrick Cryne had provided the transfer funds/backed Robins transfer plans back in 2011?
Think that's about right. I've often thought had we beaten Wednesday at Wembley the following would possibly have still happened. Mads would have left for PL The club would still have accepted the Kitching bid down to player then, bigger wages probably leaves. Swansea would still have come in for Duff Norwood wouldn't have coped with 46 championship games. Would ultimately have all been down to recruitment then, budget wise it would have been better but we wouldn't have had lots to spend and would probably be around Rotherham.
It is a purely hypothetical argument. All I would add is that I do not think Robbin’s work ethic or his integrity has been surpassed by his successors at BFC.
Best opportunity we had was with Val. The club saw the £ signs and let fans back in for the Swansea game, the players choked and the rest is history.
What did the club have to do with letting fans back in? And the players didn't choke, our system was sussed out by the latter end of the season
I agree, i doubt he'll av done ought with our budgets and to retain a manager or decent player on our wage structure i guess were where we are for that reason, and as for mid table championship team, be nice but on a budget and staying within the rules we'll be where we are now for the forseeable future, i guess, hope i'm wrong but i doubt it. Keep the faith, C,O,Y,R.
