So presumably it is just woefully inadequate then? How come it's shifted snow before but suddenly can't handle a bit of frost that has NATURALLY thawed 100 yards from the pitch? I know they say that certain areas of the pitch don't get sunlight which is fair enough but surely an heating system would thaw out the pitch as fast as a bit of sunlight in february would thaw out someones garden?
My suspicion is that unlike in the past when it was adequate the club this time tried to save some money by not turning it on until the last minute and by that point it was too late for it to effectively do it's job. They didn't anticipate the weather being as bad as it was and when there was no snow on thursday they thought they could get away with it but were caught out by low overnight temperatures. Just my suspicion and opinion like, it may or may not prove to be true. If it is true then the club should just be honest and say 'look we cocked up, we tried to save some cash and it backfired'. I'd have a hell of a lot more respect for them if they did that.
and if its not true then you can come back on here and say how much of a prissy little sheite you are
You could kinda stick up for them if the weather had been sprung on them, but it's been freezing for a couple of weeks now. It should have been turned on sooner, and fans should have been kept in the know that it might get called off sooner than springing an half 12 pitch inspection on us.
Maybe the confusuion there stems from underestimating "a bit of sunlight". It's estimated that winter sun provides around 300W per square metre of energy.
