Does anyone think Marley will get abuse for asking for a transfer? Bit different to me the Winnall saga but both obviously wanted out.
With these transfer request things, I never know how much of it is down to the player and how much is down to the agent. If Marley pulls on a red shirt, he should get the backing of the fans. Anything else would surely have a negative effect. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Can't everyone at Rotherham Saturday sing "we want you to stay, we want you to stay, marley watkins, we want you to stay" worked for wigan with Morsey. And marley is our most productive player now conor's gone top assist and one of the top scorers. Hope he stays un sung hero
Didnt work for us with Conor though Dont think we tried it with Winnall Wouldnt hurt to try it though
I just wonder now how he will react. If he gets the lip on he may well just decide to not perform... its not unheard of is it.
I have a feeling he might be offered a contract extension. Get the impression Davies isn't the only one, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Scowen and Marley sign new deals. Hope so, anyway. I'm backing him til someone says he's left.
I wonder why the club refuse Marley's request but accept Sam and Conor's and bree's.? Is it down to the fee we were expecting?
Sounds like it, from Hecky's interview. Everyone's got their price, but Marley's suitors aren't willing to meet his. As such, the best way for him to engineer a move is to perform so well that it tempts them to up their offers.
Agree.... Its not fair to blame agents for everything... these players are over 21, they know what they are doing. If Marley wants out, let him go..
Possibly but also possibly to whether we think we an keep him. No one is going to be offering £28K per week or even 18K for Marley - maybe we think we can do a deal that is competative enough to keep him here. Of course if he can get 20K a week in the summer he will just stay and run his contract down. Also I get the impression we werent that fussed about keeping Winnall - he was being a pain and really wanted to go Doubt Marley will be the same disruptive pillock in the dressing room Of course if someone comes in with an offer North of 2Million we might reconsider
Not from me. I reckon with much of this, it'll be a move on his part to force us to make a formal contract offer and get it on the table. Complexity of a footballer's contract and all that. No doubt he has options to go elsewhere, if he's intent on moving, he just has to see out the next 5 months, no real need to put a request in. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
We've made him an offer of a new contract. What's happened is we've had a bid for him that "did not turn the owner's head" so turned it down and the player wants to go as he knows he can earn far more elsewhere and no doubts is being advised to move whilst his stock is high.
